Meteor is the appearance of lines meteoroids fall into Earth's atmosphere, commonly known as shooting stars. Appearance is caused by the heat generated by the ram pressure (not by friction, as a general assumption before this) at the time of meteoroids entering the atmosphere. Meteors are very bright, much brighter than Venus appearance, can be called a bolide. If a meteoroids do not burn out on his journey in the atmosphere and reach the earth's surface, the resulting object is called a meteorite.
